Barcelona are now focused on moving parts of their squad this summer, with a number of players set to leave, one of which is Mikael Faye.

The 20-year-old Senegal international was due to be promoted from Atletico Barcelona this summer, but with so many players in his position and so few chances given to him during Barcelona’s pre-season, expectations were that they would try to cash in. On him.

Faye’s future has been quiet for some time after talks with Porto failed to reach an agreement. However, Fabrizio Romano revealed that Barcelona have received an offer of €10 million, plus a sale fee of 20-25%. He also noted that Barcelona would be keen to include a buy-back clause if a deal was completed.

Barca always demanded a buy-back clause as a key step in letting Faye leave, in order to retain control of the player’s future.

In negotiations with Porto, reports suggest Barcelona will seek at least €15 million for Faye. He joined last summer for €2.2 million, meaning Barca could make a tidy profit from him. However, some believe Barcelona should retain his potential and consider offloading some of their other defensive options.
