Defender confirms he will stay at Barcelona this summer

Barcelona defender Eric Garcia has confirmed he will stay at the club this summer. The 24-year-old spent last season on loan at Girona and became a key part of the Spanish team that won the gold medal at the Paris Olympics.
Garcia is expected to return with Olympic partner Paulo Cubasi within a few months. After winning gold in a thriller against France, Garcia told RAC1 that he has discussed his future with new head coach Hansi Flick and that he fully expects to stay at the club this summer despite the club’s large number of midfielders Defender.
“It was historic, we had a very good relationship with Pau Cubarsí from day one,” he said of their victory at the Olympics.
Barcelona currently have eight centre-backs set to start the new season in the senior squad, and while Mikael Faye and Clement Lenglet are expected to leave the club, Hansi Flick will still be available.
