Dominic Solanke undergoes medical ahead of record move to Tottenham that will benefit Liverpool

HITC revealed earlier on Friday that Tottenham had reached a breakthrough in talks with Bournemouth for the England international.

There is a £65 million clause in Solanke’s contract that can be triggered by any of the Premier League’s “big six”, and Tottenham have taken advantage of this.

Tottenham and Bournemouth agree £65m deal for Solanke

HITC can confirm that Tottenham have indeed agreed a deal worth £65m – although Bournemouth have agreed to accept installment payments, with £10m also based on performance bonuses.

Sources confirmed to HITC that Solanke met with Tottenham officials on Friday and completed a medical at Tottenham Road training headquarters over the weekend.

Solanke’s personal terms are already in place and the six-year deal will be signed in the coming days.

HITC also revealed that Liverpool are monitoring the situation closely as they will receive 20% of Bournemouth’s profits, equivalent to just under £10m – but a welcome bonus for the Merseyside giants.

Liverpool benefit from terms set out by Richard Hughes

Ironically, this boosts the transfer funds of Anfield sporting director Richard Hughes, who negotiated his original deal with Bournemouth when they signed him from Liverpool in 2019.

Solanke’s deal sets a club transfer record for Bournemouth and a club record for Tottenham Hotspur – just surpassing their 2019 signing of Tanguy Ndombe from Lyon Lai.

Despite the record spending, Tottenham confirmed to HITC earlier this week that the purchase of Solanke was not dependent on them selling the likes of Richarlison – who has been linked with a move to the Saudi Professional League.
