Barcelona star Lamine Yamar believes they have sent a message to their La Liga title rivals.

Heading into the international match week in March, Barcelona is back at the top of the standings, with a better head-to-head record than Real Madrid.

Hansi Flick’s side put in a brilliant performance at Atletico Madrid, coming from behind to win 4-2.

Trailing 2-0 in the final 20 minutes of the match, Barcelona turned the tide as Diego Simeone’s side failed to react.

Robert Lewandowski and substitute Ferran Torres quickly levelled the scoreline at 2-2, shocking the home crowd.

However, just when the game in the capital looked set to be tied, Lamine Yamal’s long-range rocket sailed past Jan Oblak’s line to spark frenzied scenes for the visitors.

Torres scored his second goal in stoppage time in this thrilling title race.

Ramin Yamal admitted that the players were celebrating in the dressing room and when he came out for the post-match interview he smiled widely for the camera.

Despite a stellar record of 11 assists in the league so far this season, the 17-year-old has not scored in La Liga since October.

The ever-confident Ramin Yamal claimed he knew he would be back on the goal line when his team needed him most.

“I’m very happy to have gotten the win. It was a very important game and getting the three points was the most important thing, so I’m very happy,” he said.

“Robert’s first goal was important, then Phelan’s goal because he equalised, and then my goal and Phelan’s fourth goal came naturally.

“I know when I score again in La Liga it will be a big game. At the end of the day I don’t care if I score or not as long as the team wins.”
