Josip Stanisic praises former defender Vincent Kompany for his impressive performance at Bayern Munich

Vincent Kompany’s time as Bayern Munich head coach has been brief so far, but Josip Stanisic’s time working with him has been even shorter. Stanisic was injured almost before the season began, and as of this writing, he has been limited to less than a month of playing time. However, the Croatian defender fully supports Vincent Kompany and his expertise:

“He brought a new spirit to the team,”  “Since he is a defender himself, he takes defense very seriously and motivates us. With him, this season could be very successful.”

It probably helps that Kompany is no Thomas Tuchel, who allowed Stanisic just 1 start in total before loaning him out to Leverkusen, and of course, we all know what happened afterwards. But equally, Kompany does seem to have the approval of all the players. This unwavering confidence is key to success for any coach, but particularly for Bayern.
