According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the Merseyside giants continue to prioritize Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, even after the arrival of Hugo Ekitik.

The club’s goal is clear: to strengthen their attacking lineup to ensure depth, quality, and competitiveness in all competitions.

The potential departures of Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez open the door for another striker to join.

Liverpool is focusing on selling players to attract new signings.

Diaz is on the verge of a move to Bayern Munich, while Nunez’s future remains uncertain, with speculation growing that he will be on the move this summer.

Despite confidence in Ekitik and their existing attacking core, including Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo, Liverpool is still searching for a new attacker who can lead the line and fit seamlessly into Arne Sloter’s system.

Isak fits the bill, and they are considering a move for the Newcastle United striker.

Jacobs reports that the Reds are not planning to make a “blind bid.” Instead, they are waiting for Newcastle to provide a clear position on Isak’s transfer, especially if Isak himself is believed to be willing to move.

Alexander Isak is a priority target for the Reds

Liverpool wants to ensure that any proposal is strategic and based on reality, rather than being seen as speculative or rash. If the conditions are right, especially if Isak is actively pursuing a move, the Anfield club will be prepared to act decisively.

A potential bid will only be submitted if there is confidence that a deal can be reached, not simply as a test.

Liverpool has already signed players such as Ekitik, Florian Wirtz, Jérémy Frimpong, and Milos Kerčíce. Signing Isak not only demonstrates their determination and ambition to continue their dominance in English football, but also their goal of becoming a force in European football.
