Liverpool hold talks with France international star

According to Football Insider, Liverpool have recently held talks with free agent Adrien Rabiot over a possible summer move. However, the Premier League club will only sign him if they fail to land Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.
Adrien Rabiot has yet to find a club
Adrien Rabiot was born in Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and became famous in one fell swoop. He then moved to Juventus in the summer of 2019, where he established himself as one of the key players. He also became an official member of the French national team.
Rabiot played 35 games on behalf of the team, scoring 5 goals and 3 assists. He averages 1.9 tackles, 0.7 interceptions and 0.9 clearances per game (stats from whoscored). He left the club as a free agent at the end of last season and has yet to find a new home.
The France international enjoys playing freely in the center of the pitch. He can contribute defensively as he excels in tackles and interceptions. However, as a box-to-box midfielder, he also enjoys being involved in the attack.
Martin Zubimendi to make decision soon
Liverpool’s priority remains the signing of Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi as he is an excellent defensive midfielder. The English side are in talks with the Spanish club and are even prepared to activate their €60m release clause if needed.
However, with head coach Imano Alguacil urging Zubimendi to stay for next season, anything can happen. The player has yet to decide his future. Therefore, it makes sense for the Reds to keep other options on the market.
Currently, Liverpool have contacted free agent Adrien Rabiot. As the profiles are not similar, the Frenchman will bring different qualities to Anfield. With little time left in the summer transfer window, a charity event dedicated to the transfer saga is expected to take place in the coming days.
