Liverpool “Prepared” to Submit Offer for Alexander Isak

Isak has made it clear to Newcastle that he wants to leave the club this summer, but losing him would be a huge blow to the Magpies.

Eddie Howe’s side have already missed out on Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Brian Mbeumo, and Hugo Ekitik, while Brentford is currently refusing to sell Ioane Vissa.

Liverpool is ready to test Newcastle’s resolve and make an offer for Isak.

According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Liverpool is “prepared to submit an offer” for Isak in the coming days and has “reached an agreement in principle” with the Swedish striker.

Signing Isak would be an expensive deal for Liverpool, but they will receive cash from the sale of Luis Díaz to Bayern Munich.

The German giants are currently closing in on a €75 million bid for the Colombian winger.

Liverpool did not agree to a transfer clause when signing Diaz from Porto, so they are expected to make a €26 million profit upon completion of the transfer.

Arne Slot already possesses a wealth of attacking talent, but Isak’s signing will be seen as a stronger statement of intent.

Former Premier League star Gabriel Agbonlahor told Newcastle United that Isak’s signing would bring a lucrative return.

He said: “Isak clearly thinks Newcastle United isn’t big enough for him?”

“He wants to leave, so I think Newcastle United should offer £120 million for him.”

Sources indicate Newcastle United is looking to sell Isak for £150 million, but securing that transfer fee may be difficult for a player who clearly wants to leave.

Furthermore, there is no clear sign of Isak renewing his contract with Newcastle United, further weakening the Magpies’ market position.
