Manchester United in talks to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Cesco

The German club reportedly failed to qualify for the Champions League and will lose Xavi Simons and the Slovenian, who are two of the club’s best players.
Cesco’s future has been the subject of speculation in this transfer window, with Arsenal reportedly looking to sign him to strengthen their forward line and have even held formal negotiations.
However, they have decided to move forward with a deal to sign Victor Giocres from Sporting Lisbon, although they have yet to finalize it.
Therefore, Cesco remains available and Manchester United have a long-term interest in him as they have been closely linked with him in almost every summer transfer window over the past few years.
Now, Romano has stated on his YouTube channel that Manchester United has a short list of center forward candidates and Cesco is on it. The Red Devils have appointed Christopher Vivier as their head of recruitment, and Vivier knows the striker well during his time at the Red Bull Group. Therefore, they have discussed the possibility of bringing in Cesco internally.
Cesco to Manchester United
However, whether Manchester United can bring in the striker will depend on how much they can get from the player’s sale.
Anthony, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Gnacho and Tyril Malacia are all on the transfer list, while Marcus Rashford is about to join Barcelona on a season-long loan, with the option to make the transfer permanent next year.
Romano said:
“Benjamin Cesco is one of the options for Manchester United. I want to make it clear that he is not the only option. For Manchester United, it is not only a joint decision, but also a joint agreement within the club and how much money the club has available in terms of funds based on the expenditure.
“Remember, there is a director in the management team called Christopher Vivier, who knows Cesco very well, he came from the Red Bull Group, so he knows Benjamin Cesco, which is why Cesco’s interest is being discussed within the club. ”
Cesco signed a new contract last summer and currently has four years left on his contract with a release clause of £69 million.
Manchester United needs a new striker to avoid a repeat of last season. Although they have Rasmus Hoylund and Joshua Zirkzee, the two strikers’ performances last season were disappointing.
Cesco is a talented player with great potential. But he is only 22 years old like Hoylund and may need some time to adapt to the Premier League.
