It has been a busy summer at Stamford Bridge, with the arrival of a new manager and a series of signings as the Blues try to strengthen their squad and qualify for the Champions League.

Neto to undergo Chelsea medical on Saturday

It was revealed on Friday that Chelsea had reached an agreement with Wolves to sign Portugal international Neto for €60 million, plus €3 million in add-ons.

The Blues managed to hide the deal from the media until it was actually completed, surprising many, especially Chelsea fans.

Romano provided an update on Neto’s condition, reporting that the Portugal international is currently in London and will undergo a medical on Saturday.

He said on X.com:

“Pedro Neto has arrived in London and underwent a medical as a new Chelsea player on Saturday.

“It is understood that Neto will sign a contract that is valid until June 2030, with an option to renew for another season. #CFC believes that he is very suitable to play on both wings, flexible and talented, and can improve his quality.

Neto has been attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, but is now set to move to Chelsea.

Reports suggest player-plus-cash deals from Chelsea and Tottenham were rejected before Chelsea and Wolves agreed a direct cash deal.

Ben Jacobs reports that the players available from Chelsea are Trevor Chalobah and David Datro Fofana.

Neto is a top-level talent who, at 24, has plenty of room for improvement, despite his worrying injury record, which has seen him miss 102 games over the past four seasons.

The winger made 20 appearances in the Premier League last season, scoring 2 goals and providing 9 assists. Chelsea’s biggest task is to keep him healthy.
