Tottenham disappointed with Gibbs-White’s contract extension

Tottenham had been hoping to bring in Gibbs-White and were ready to trigger his release clause, with the attacking midfielder also set to move to North London.
However, Nottingham Forest was angry about Tottenham’s illegal contact with Gibbs-White and consulted lawyers, which hindered the transfer.
Now, after negotiations with Nottingham Forest manager Evangelos Marinakis, Gibbs-White has agreed to sign a new contract.
He will not join Tottenham this summer and has committed to play in the “thorny woods” until 2028.
For Nottingham Forest, this news is undoubtedly a huge boost after Anthony Elanga moved to Newcastle United earlier this summer.
Nuno can now plan to recall Gibbs-White before the start of the new Premier League season. He was a key member of the team last season.
Meanwhile, Spurs have been forced to turn their attention to other targets, with Gibbs-White’s plans to bring him no longer in the works.
Spurs had also been considering signing Brentford striker Yoan Visa, but Spurs have ruled that he will not be moving this summer.
This led to Visa, who was also coveted by Newcastle, refusing to train.
However, this is of little concern to Nottingham Forest, who will focus on their own signings and are keen to sign Bologna striker Dan N’Doye.
Gibbs-White would like to see Forest make a statement of intent in the transfer market this summer to show the club’s ambition to build on last season, and they are expected to submit a new offer for N’Doye next week.
