Tottenham Hotspur agree deal to sign Dominic Solanke

The Lilywhites have prioritized strengthening their attacking department by signing a new striker this transfer window. They have been linked with several names, but the Englishman has emerged as the main option of late.
It was recently reported that Tottenham had begun talks with the Cherries to buy the 26-year-old after receiving his approval. However, it initially looked like signing him would be difficult as Bournemouth didn’t want to let him leave.
However, David Ornstein reported earlier that Bournemouth have now decided to soften their stance and agree to sell their star player to Tottenham Hotspur.
Now, the reporter claims that Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with the Cherries to sign Solanke for about 65 million pounds. The player will undergo a medical today and tomorrow before signing a six-year contract.
It would be a record departure for the Cherries and would break Nathan Ake’s £40m move to Manchester City in 2020.
Solanke transfer to Tottenham Hotspur
After selling Harry Kane to Bayern Munich last summer, Tottenham have not bought anyone to replace the Englishman. However, they are now finally doing that by signing Solanke.
The 26-year-old had the best performance of his career in the Premier League last season, scoring 19 goals and assisting three in 38 games.
As such, the north London club appear to have been impressed by his performances last season and decided to sign him aggressively to bolster their attack.
The Englishman is a natural center forward. He is fast, strong, has excellent air control, has the ability to hold the ball, can complete shooting opportunities efficiently, can link up the game, and can work hard without controlling the ball.
As such, he has the attributes necessary to perform at the highest level and will therefore be a great addition to Tottenham’s attack.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are close to selling Emerson to AC Milan and it remains to be seen whether they choose to sign a new right-back to replace the Brazilian.
