Tottenham Hotspur set to battle Arsenal for Bayern Munich star

In a recent episode of The Transfer Show, reporter Steve Kay claimed that Tottenham Hotspur will compete with Arsenal for Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman this summer. Spurs are believed to have identified the France wide player as a target this transfer window.
Koeman’s performance in German football in the last season
The 28-year-old has endured a mixed period of emotions at Bayern Munich recently as he has missed a number of games due to injury. However, his performances for the Bavarian club in the Bundesliga have raised eyebrows at times. The French winger made 27 appearances for the Bavarian club last season, scoring five goals and providing three assists in all competitions.
Koeman averaged 2.0 shots, 1.7 key passes and 1.7 dribbles per game in the Bundesliga, making good contributions to the opponent’s half. He even distributes the ball relatively well in the final third, according to an 87.9% pass success rate in the German top flight (statistics from whoscored).
His current contract at the Allianz Arena expires in the summer of 2027.
Should Tottenham sign Koeman this summer?
Koeman is an excellent dribbler and with the ball at his feet, he can use his pace to cause a lot of problems for his markers on the flanks. He can shoot venom from long range and create some promising looks for others around him offensively.
The France star is primarily a left winger but can also play on the right wing if called upon. However, it remains to be seen whether he can make a smooth transition to Premier League life.
Koeman will inject more pace and goals into Tottenham manager Angelos Postkoglu’s attack. He is capable of playing regular first-team football for the north London club next season.
The 28-year-old Koeman is still enjoying his prime, and his performance is enough to help Spurs compete on all fronts in the coming seasons. Therefore, Tottenham would be a wise choice to sign him in this summer transfer window.
